Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a 17 4 ph slip on flanges used for?
A: These slip-on flanges are used for piping systems that need high strength, corrosion resistance, and good fatigue performance. Made from 17-4 PH stainless steel, they suit oil and gas, chemical processing, marine, aerospace, and power applications. They are selected where mechanical strength must be maintained up to 600°F and where easier alignment and welding of the flange to pipe are required during installation.
Q: What materials are available for 17 4 ph slip on flanges?
A: The standard material is 17-4 PH precipitation hardened stainless steel, also identified as UNS S17400, AISI 630, Grade 630, and Werkstoff 1.4542. It is supplied to specifications including ASTM A564-630, ASTM A693 Plate, ASTM A564 GR 630, and AMS 5604 for sheet, strip, and plate. SASA FLANGE can provide these flanges in eight different aged precipitation-hardened conditions depending on strength requirements.
Q: What pressure ratings does a 17 4 ph slip on flanges support?
A: Pressure rating depends on flange dimensions, applicable piping standard, operating temperature, and required aged condition of 17-4 PH. The material retains strong mechanical properties up to 600°F, but a specific pressure class must be matched to the design code and service conditions. SASA FLANGE can manufacture slip-on flanges to the required pressure class based on project drawings, size, and wall thickness requirements.
Q: What standards does a 17 4 ph slip on flanges comply with?
A: These flanges are produced from 17-4 PH stainless steel to recognized material designations including UNS S17400, AISI 630, Grade 630, and Werkstoff 1.4542. Applicable material standards include ASTM A564-630, ASTM A564 GR 630, ASTM A693 Plate, and AMS 5604 for sheet, strip, and plate. SASA FLANGE supplies ISO 9001:2015 quality documentation and MTC to EN 10204 3.1 when required.
Q: What is the lead time for custom 17 4 ph slip on flanges orders?
