مونيل 400 is considered for marine systems and selected reducing chemical environments where conventional stainless steels may not provide the required resistance. It is not appropriate for every oxidizing acid or high-velocity seawater condition.

Nickel-copper alloys can create galvanic effects when coupled to less noble metals. Evaluate the complete assembly, electrical continuity, area ratio and cathodic protection. Use compatible lubricants and controlled thread fit to reduce galling.
