Kundenspezifische ASME B16.5 F11-Blindflansche für Raffinerieanwendungen fertiggestellt
A refinery project order for ASTM A182 F11 blind flanges has been completed. The standard ASME B16.5 envelope was combined with project-specific machining, gegenüber, marking and documentation requirements without representing modified features as standard catalogue details.

Delivery highlights
Standard dimensions with controlled project features
ASME B16.5 defined the applicable size, Klasse, drilling and principal flange dimensions. The purchase order added controlled surface finish, marking and selected machining details required by the refinery specification. These additions were checked against the approved drawing so that a project modification did not become an undocumented deviation.
Because blind flanges close a piping end or equipment nozzle, Dicke, bolt-hole alignment and gasket-facing condition were central to the dimensional inspection plan.
Inspection and refinery release documentation
PMI supported F11 material identity, while hardness and material records supported the ordered condition. Final inspection verified thickness, outside diameter, Lochkreis, hole size, face finish, marking and visual condition. Any preservation coating was kept away from the gasket contact area.
The completed release package connected the flange marking to the material certificate, inspection results and packing list for site receipt.
Information needed for a comparable RFQ
A comparable inquiry should identify the exact material specification and grade, governing standard and edition, NPS, Druckklasse, Flanschtyp, gegenüber, Bohrung oder passender Rohrplan, quantity and destination. For this project-news scope, the key reference points were ASTM A182 F11 forged alloy steel, Blindflansch, raised face, Klasse 300 und Klasse 600 Und NPS 2–16.
State the required EN 10204 certificate type, Rückverfolgbarkeit der Schmelzenzahl, PMI extent, Härtegrenzen, dimensional report, NDE method and acceptance standard, third-party witness points, packing method and required delivery date at quotation stage. Early definition allows manufacturing, inspection and document schedules to be reviewed together.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Can a modified flange still be called ASME B16.5 compliant?
Only if every applicable requirement remains satisfied. Project-specific deviations should be identified against the drawing and reviewed by the responsible engineer.
Why use F11 for refinery blind flanges?
F11 may be selected within approved chrome-moly material classes for elevated-temperature process service. Suitability depends on the complete design basis.
Which dimensions matter most on a blind flange?
Dicke, outside diameter, Lochkreis, hole size, facing geometry and surface finish are typical controlled features.
