180 Degree Elbows

180 degree elbows, also called return bends, reverse the direction of a pipeline while maintaining a continuous butt-welded flow path. They are used in heating coils, heat exchangers, compact process layouts and other systems where two parallel pipe runs must be connected.SASA FLANGE supplies factory-made wrought return bends to ASME B16.9 where applicable, in carbon steel, low-temperature steel, stainless steel, duplex, alloy steel and selected nickel alloys. Long- or short-radius geometry, center-to-center dimension, wall thinning, ovality, tangent length and construction route must be evaluated for the actual layout. A 180-degree angle does not by itself define the radius or pressure capability. For quotation: state the standard edition, NPS or DN, radius, schedule or exact wall, material grade, tangent requirements, seamless or welded construction, end preparation, quantity and inspection package. Heavy-wall and non-standard return bends require drawing review before production.
