Stub Ends

Stub ends are butt-weld fittings with a formed lap that works with a loose lap-joint backing flange. The stub end provides the wetted sealing surface while the backing flange can rotate for bolt-hole alignment, making the assembly useful where corrosion-resistant process material is combined with a different backing-flange material.SASA FLANGE supplies long and short pattern stub ends to ASME B16.9 or MSS SP-43 where applicable. Materials can include austenitic and duplex stainless steel, nickel alloy, titanium and other corrosion-resistant grades permitted by the piping specification. Pattern, lap dimensions, wall thickness, forming route and facing finish must match the backing flange, gasket and adjoining pipe. For quotation: state the standard and edition, type or pattern, NPS or DN, schedule or exact wall, material grade, lap diameter and thickness, facing finish, backing-flange details, quantity and required MTC, PMI or NDE. Confirm corrosion and pressure-temperature suitability for the complete joint.
