Description
Inconel 600 / Alloy 600 Blind Flange – ASTM B564 UNS N06600
Forged Alloy 600 blind flanges for closing pressure-piping ends, nozzles and inspection openings where the approved material specification requires UNS N06600.
Quick engineering answer
An Alloy 600 blind flange is a solid forged closure flange made to ASTM B564 UNS N06600. Inconel 600 is a widely recognized trade name for this nickel-chromium-iron alloy; the purchase description should still identify ASTM B564 and UNS N06600.
Product specification
| Material | ASTM B564 UNS N06600 nickel-chromium-iron alloy |
|---|---|
| Available forms | Raised Face (RF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ), Flat Face where permitted and drawing-specific blind flange designs |
| Dimensional standards | ASME B16.5; ASME B16.47 for applicable large diameters; EN 1092-1 or approved drawings on request |
| Pressure classes | Class 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500 within the selected standard, material group and size limits |
| Facing | Raised Face (RF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ), Flat Face (FF) where permitted, or drawing-specific facing |
| Documentation | EN 10204 3.1 MTC, heat-number traceability, dimensional report and ordered inspection records |
Pressure-temperature ratings depend on the governing code, flange standard edition, material group, size and class. Confirm the complete project specification before ordering.

| Dimensional basis | ASME B16.5 where applicable | ASME B16.47 or approved drawing for applicable large sizes |
Material selection
Alloy 600 is valued for oxidation resistance at elevated temperature and useful performance in selected corrosive services. It is not Alloy 625 and is not a universal corrosion solution. Confirm the actual media, contaminants, concentration, pressure, temperature and fabrication conditions before selection.
Matching-material note: Specify the mating flange standard, gasket, bolting, facing finish and pressure class as a complete joint system. ASTM B564 controls the forged material; ASME B16.5 or B16.47 controls applicable dimensions and ratings.
Quality controls available
- PMI for alloy identity and segregation control
- Heat number and EN 10204 3.1 traceability
- UT or PT when required by the purchase specification
- Dimensional, facing and marking inspection
Typical applications
Applications are selection cues, not blanket approvals. Process media, pressure, temperature, corrosion data, fatigue, fabrication and code requirements govern final suitability.

Information required for quotation
Provide the material grade, flange type, standard and edition, NPS or DN, pressure class or PN rating, pipe schedule or exact bore, facing and finish, quantity, delivery destination, heat treatment, NDE, testing, certification and third-party inspection requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Are Inconel 600 and Alloy 600 the same grade?
They commonly refer to UNS N06600. For unambiguous procurement, state ASTM B564 UNS N06600 together with the required flange standard, size and class.
Is ASTM B564 a dimensional standard?
No. ASTM B564 specifies nickel-alloy forgings, including flanges. ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 or an approved drawing supplies the dimensional requirements.
Can Alloy 600 replace Alloy 625?
Not automatically. Their chemistry, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior differ. Any substitution requires engineering review and written approval.
Request a specification review and quotation
Send the complete RFQ or piping material specification. SASA FLANGE will review grade identity, dimensions, facing, inspection and documentation before production.
