Product overview
Hastelloy C276 threaded rod is produced from UNS N10276 nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy. Its chemistry and low carbon/silicon content support broad resistance across many oxidizing and reducing chemical environments and strong corrosion performance in correctly fabricated assemblies.
ASTM B574 is commonly used for C276 rod and bar starting material. Finished threaded rods require a complete specification for dimensions, thread standard, surface condition, mating hardware, inspection and cleanliness.

Why specify this material?
C276 is considered for severe chemical duties involving reducing acids, oxidizing contaminants, wet chlorine compounds and chloride-bearing systems. No corrosion-resistant alloy is universal; concentration, temperature, aeration, impurities and crevice geometry must be reviewed.
Engineering note
Avoid using generic alloy names without UNS designation and material standard. Nickel-alloy bolting also needs an anti-galling strategy and strict segregation from carbon-steel tools and grinding contamination.
