Hastelloy slip on flanges are bored slightly larger than the pipe outside diameter so the pipe slips into the flange before fillet welding from inside and outside. This design provides easy alignment during installation and is widely used in low to medium pressure process lines, corrosive chemical systems, offshore piping, scrubbers, chlorine handling and flue gas desulfurization units. Common face types include RF and FF, with selected RTJ designs available for special service.
