Hastelloy® fasteners & flanges are Available from SASA FLANGE – such as Hastelloy C276, which is generally considered a versatile and highly corrosion resistant alloy. Hastelloy threaded flanges have excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing media which makes it well suited for a variety of strong corrosive applications. Hastelloy threaded flanges also have exceptional resistance to both sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
Because Hastelloy threaded flanges resist some of the most severe media, Hastelloy threaded flanges are often utilized in chemical processing applications where acid chlorides, solvents, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, wet chlorine gas, hypochlorites, chlorine solutions and phosphoric acid are used. For chemical processing applications, Hastelloy C276 is the most common grade and one of the most corrosion resistant nickel alloys – exceeding that of most other nickel alloy grades like Inconel or Monel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a hastelloy threaded flanges used for?
A: These flanges connect threaded pipe or fittings where welding is undesirable, especially in corrosive chemical, petrochemical, offshore, and acid-processing systems. Hastelloy grades such as C276 and C22 are selected for chloride, oxidizing, and reducing media resistance. ASME B16.5 threaded designs suit low-to-medium pressure piping, maintenance-intensive lines, and hazardous services requiring reliable sealing, easy removal, and full material traceability with EN 10204 3.1 certification.
Q: What materials are available for hastelloy threaded flanges?
A: Available alloys include Hastelloy C276, B2, B3, C22, and Hastelloy X, with corresponding UNS designations such as N10276, N10665, N10675, and N06022. These threaded flanges can be supplied in cold drawn, hot finished, cold rolled, hot rolled, annealed, and mercury-free conditions. Material selection depends on media chemistry, temperature, and corrosion mode, including reducing acids, oxidizing chlorides, and high-temperature service exposure.
Q: What pressure ratings does a hastelloy threaded flanges support?
A: Pressure ratings are supplied according to ASME B16.5 dimensional and pressure-temperature requirements for threaded flanges. Available class depends on size, alloy grade, and operating temperature, since Hastelloy mechanical properties vary between C276, B2, B3, C22, and Hastelloy X. For correct selection, specify NPS, thread form, service temperature, and medium. SASA FLANGE can confirm the suitable ASME class against your design conditions and piping code requirements.
Q: What standards does a hastelloy threaded flanges comply with?
A: These flanges are manufactured to ASME B16.5 and ASME B16.11 requirements, with material standards including ASTM B574/ASME SB574, ASTM B564/ASME SB564, ASTM B575/ASME SB575, and ASTM B462/ASME SB462. Testing and documentation can include ASTM G28-A/B corrosion testing, EN 10204 3.1 MTC, and radiographic examination per ASME Section VIII Division 1 UW-51 when specified. Related fitting and pipe standards include ASTM B619, B626, B366, and B333.
Q: What is the lead time for custom hastelloy threaded flanges orders?
A: Custom orders typically require 15-30 days, depending on alloy grade, size, thread specification, quantity, and testing scope. Additional requirements such as ASTM G28-A/B corrosion testing, EN 10204 3.1 certification, or X-ray per ASME Section VIII Division 1 UW-51 may affect production time. Stock items can ship in 3-7 days. For delivery confirmation, contact SASA FLANGE at sales@sasaflange.com or WhatsApp +86 13764965049.
