Pipe Couplings
Pipe couplings are compact fittings used to connect pipe or provide a branch connection. Full couplings join two ends; half couplings are commonly welded to a vessel, header or run pipe. End configurations include socket weld and internal thread, selected according to the piping class and installation method.SASA FLANGE supplies forged couplings to ASME B16.11 where applicable, in carbon steel, low-temperature steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex and selected corrosion-resistant materials. Class designation, thread form, socket geometry and material specification perform different functions in the purchase description and should all be stated. Welding procedure, branch reinforcement and service suitability remain part of the piping design. For quotation: specify full or half coupling, end type, NPS or DN, pressure class or schedule, material grade, NPT or other ordered thread, socket dimensions, quantity, coating and certification requirements. Include the line class or drawing for non-standard branch connections.
