Ан ASTM A403 WP316L pipe cap is a wrought austenitic stainless steel butt-welding fitting used to close the end of a pipe, header or branch permanently. Its contoured closed end and prepared weld bevel support a compact, leak-tight termination without a bolted joint.
WP316L combines low carbon content with molybdenum alloying. It is frequently selected where welded fabrication and localized corrosion resistance are more important than the lower initial cost of WP304L.
